A Lifelong Battle in the Dark

Depression and anxiety have, for the lion’s share of my existence, have very much been the enemy I could not see. For many years, the intense panic, the burning pain in my chest, my heart pounding so loud I could hear it through my body, indigestion, insomnia, feeling worthless, empty, and even alone in a crowded room, well, it was just par for the course, something that I (and presumably everyone else) had to tough out in their day to day lives. It took 30 years to figure out I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression for nearly my whole life.
